Dear customers, vendors, suppliers and project partners:
This communication is to provide you with an update regarding Tantec’s status at this stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tantec HQ in Denmark and our office in Chicago remain open and ready to support our customers, agents and partners with spare parts and service, as well as continue to work on current and new projects.
Whenever possible, all scheduled and future meetings are held by telephone or online communications systems like Skype, Microsoft Team etc..
We have been monitoring the situation closely and have adopted several measures to help minimize the risk to Tantec employees and to our manufacturing capabilities. The health and safety of our employees is important to Tantec.
Tantec anticipates being able to continue operations with little to no disruption of our production capabilities. However, we can't rule out the possibility of some further impact in the near or long term future as a result of additional mandates by federal or state government actions. We will continue evaluating the situation and will notify specific customers and vendors if a specific order delivery date or other deadline will be affected.
The importance of making the final packaging for a product look professional is an increasing trend at many bottle manufacturers. Manufacturers are focused on branding more than ever. Bottle manufactures do not want their labels to fall off the bottle or have logos printed poorly resulting in the product looking low end or poorly made. This can happen because the surface of the bottle has not been surface treated.
When bottle makers face label, coating and ink adhesion challenges corona surface treaters are often used to increase the adhesive strength. Bottle adhesion problems occur because many of the container materials used in the packaging are chemically inert.
Bottle coating ensures that labels are not peeled off until complete destruction of the label occurs. Surface treatment activates surfaces to create bonding sites to enable successful adhesion.
In simple terms, Surface Treatment (etching) is the preparation of a plastic surface to allow maximum adhesion between the plastic and other materials such as glue, inks, or coatings. Without this step in the production process the imprinted ink will run off and certain types of labels won’t stick.
Tantec’s BottleTEC system sets new standards for corona treatment technology. It is possible to surface treat PE, PET, PP, PC, PEEK, ABS, PS and other cylindrical containers in high-speed molding, printing, filling or labeling production lines. Bottles quickly rotate through the system receiving 360° of treatment.
This universal BottleTEC system developed by Tantec operates with patented rotating electrode elements resulting in complete and uniform treatment of parts. These self-contained units can be installed within existing production lines or used as an off-line treating process.
Corona Treatment of bottles is considered an environmentally friendly process which has low operation cost. With Corona surface treatment you achieve great savings on adhesive materials, inks, coatings, and e.g. primer.
The BottleTEC Surface Treatment System features:
• Surface treatment of various shaped bottles • Keeps pace with existing production lines. • Treating levels up to 72 mN/m (dyne/cm) - depending on the application. • Non-contact treatment • BottleTEC electrodes ensure a uniform treatment • Flexible design – no need to adjust • Surface treating of empty and filled bottles (depending on application) • Various design available depending upon part geometry • Easy maintenance
Tantec has just received a large order from a leading medical manufacturer in the US for a customized surface treatment system. The customer produces an important tools for diagnosing infectious diseases like Covid-19. Tantec has put in place several internal initiatives, so this Tantec surface treatment solution can be delivered to the customer as soon as possible. We want to do everything we can to help our customers quickly expedite these vital systems for healthcare institutions.
Tantec is open for business The Danish government has urged companies to do everything possible to limit the spread of Covid-19 and keep business running as close to normal as possible.
We work hard to keep the flow of goods in and out of our companies intact.
Thank you so much for the great interest in our Tantec seminars.
However, in view of the latest Covid-19 actions taken from the Danish Government the events at Munkebjerg Hotel in Vejle and Tivoli Hotel in Copenhagen are postponed. We naturally expect to place these events later but will revert on this as soon as the situation has stabilized.
The Tantec event in Chicago, which was set to take place May 11, 2020, has been postponed considering to the current coronavirus pandemic. New date will follow
Tantec A/S has received Universal Robots (UR) certification for its PlasmaTEC-X surface treatment solution. Universal Robots certification confirms that the plasma surface treatment system is fully compatible with UR collaborative robots and meets all published specifications.
The growing demand for Tantec solutions in the United States and abroad, along with a desire for a greater presence in the coating industry have led Tantec to enter into a collaboration with Thin Film Partners.
Meet us at the Foam Expo - we're already looking forward to meeting you. We're a leading manufacturer of standard and customized Plasma and Corona systems for surface treatment of foam boards and extrusions to enhance adhesion properties for more than 45 years.
Grundlæggende Plasma og Corona-seminar (this seminar will be held in Danish)
Tantec has for many years had a profitable collaboration with Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST through joint research projects and workshops. Fraunhofer IST has published an article about cooperation in their annual report.
Tantec has developed their OzoneTEC System to treat the inside of products such as surfboards, coolers, ice boxes, jacket pipes, small boats etc. – products that consist of fiberglass on the outside and foam on the inside – also called sandwich construction.
Every three years, NPE draws 65,000+ professionals from across the plastics industry with its world-class education program and its show floor—more than 1 million square feet of the latest technology, equipment, materials and solutions that are shaping the future of plastics. In 2018, the event is heading to Orlando, May 7–11.
General Workshop Information Last year we held with great succes a Fundamental Technical Seminar in Plasma and Corona Surface Treatment. We are therefore pleased to offer you a workshop at a fundamental level, with time for hands-on demostration of Tantec Products.
In beautiful areas around the Munkebjerg in Vejle, Tantec hosted a seminar introducing plasma and corona. There was great interest in the subject, and subsequently it was necessary to extend the conference rooms a few weeks after the invitations were sent out.
It’s been a long process but we’ve done it! We’ve changed our logo! If you are asking why, we’ve got some reasons we are addressing today. We are happy to finally showcase it and will slowly start to adopt it over time.
The PlasmaTEC-X OEM is based on the technology of the PlasmaTEC device. The PlasmaTEC-X OEM can be used without the PlasmaREMOTE control unit. The target group is mainly mechanical engineers and OEM customers who want to use a single device only and do not require a control unit.
We are proud to announce the launch of our newly redesigned website.
We did do some pretty extensive testing before launching this new website, but some things may not yet be perfect. Please send us an email ([email protected]) if you find some issues or even have some suggestions on the type of content you would like to see.
