Venture Automation optimizes end customer's production with Tantec solution

Venture Automation, a leader in the design and manufacture of automation equipment for the automotive glass industry, has achieved remarkable improvements in their customer’s production processes after implementing a corona treater solution from Tantec. The company, which specializes in developing equipment for assembling components on finished glass, faced several challenges that required an innovative solution.

The challenge: A difficult and costly priming process

Venture Automation faced a major challenge in building a production line for a customer: to ensure proper adhesion of components to be attached to the glass with adhesives, a priming process was required. This process was both labor-intensive and involved the use of expensive and environmentally harmful chemicals. In addition, the process required extensive ventilation, use of personal protective equipment and handling of additional material waste, adding to the complexity and cost of production.

The solution: Tantec’s innovative coating machine

The solution to this challenge came when Venture Automation’s customer introduced them to Tantec. The customer wanted to use a corona treatment process that would eliminate the need for priming. After thorough testing of the corona treater, Venture Automation chose to go with the corona treatment solution. The decisive factors in the decision were the high quality of Tantec’s surface treatment system during the tests and the easy integration of Tantec’s technology into the company’s existing production processes.

“We have been able to eliminate a priming process at our customer and implement a flow of surface treatment, adhesive dispensing and assembly in one piece. This significantly reduced labor costs and primer materials from the process,” says Rick Cole of Venture Automation.

The results: Significant savings and improved efficiency

After implementing Tantec’s machine, the end customer has seen significant improvements in their production flow. They have been able to eliminate the priming process, which has enabled a more streamlined production where surface treatment preparation, adhesive dispensing and assembly now happen as one continuous process. This has led to significant lower costs and the elimination of the expensive complex primer materials.

Environmental benefits and recommendations

In addition to the economic benefits, Tantec’s technology has also resulted in environmental improvements. By eliminating the need for primer materials, the customer has significantly reduced their environmental impact.

Venture Automation is so pleased with the results that they highly recommend Tantec’s corona treatment machines to other companies working with plastic or metal bonding in high volume production.

“Tantec has delivered a solution that has both optimized production processes and reduced the environmental footprint. We would have no hesitation in recommending their coating machines to other companies facing similar challenges,” Rick concludes.
